The other team in NY lost 4-2 against the KC Athletics. (Mantle hit #475 HR of his career. Exactly one year later (5/14/1967 he hit #500 off Stu Miller)
FWIW—The record for a team with the most hits with no XBH- 23 White Sox over CLE 13-1 (April 28,1901) Second - 22 singles by LAD June 3,1988 (13-5 over CINN) Steve Sax and Mickey Hatcher had five hits apiece.
